8. Case Study based Questions
In a town’s community park, local residents initiated a plantation drive to improve air quality,
conserve worker, and create a calming space for stress relief.
As a part of the drive, the park management needs to assess the distribution of plant species
for future care and maintenance. Out of 7,500 plant in the park 20% are rose plants, while
32% are jasmine plants. The park also features a pond with 500 lotus plants.

Based on as one situation answer the following questions.
(a) The park committee is planning to plant more roses. They need to assess the current
numbers. How many rose plants are there in the park?
(b) The committee is organising a flower festival and needs to decide where to place more
fragrant plants, which are Jasmine and rose. How many more Jasmine plants are there
as compared to rose plants?
(c) For proper planning of future plantation, the management wants to know the relationship
between rose and lotus plants. Express the number of rose plants as a percentage of
lotus plants.
