The maximum production during 5 months = 10,000.

The minimum production during 5 months = 4,000.
                  \ The required ratio = 10,000 : 4,000 = 5 : 2.

            Double Bar Graph

A double bar graph helps to show two sets of
data simultaneously. In this type of graph,

two kinds of bars are drawn side by side using
different shades. The graph given shows the
number of boys and girls in classes VI to X.

From this double bar graph, we can infer
            various information.

( a) In which class there is an equal
                      number of boys and girls?
In class VII, the heights of the bars

are the same, which means the
number of boys and girls is equal.

( b) In which class is the maximum
                      number of students?
The total number of boys and girls in class VIII is maximum.

( c) Name the classes in which the number of girls is less than the number of boys.

We can see that the bar showing the number of girls in Class VI and IX is shorter than
the bar showing the number of boys. So, the number of girls is less than the number
of boys in classes VI and IX.

( d) Find the ratio between the total number of girls and the total number of boys in classes
                      VI-X.

Required ratio = Total number of girls : Total number of boys
                                       = (32 + 40 + 56 + 44 + 36) : (36 + 40 + 52 + 48 + 32) = 208 : 208 = 1 : 1.
