Histogram

We already know how to represent ungrouped
data through a bar graph. Now, we shall learn how
to represent a grouped frequency distribution
graphically. The most common graphical
representation for such distribution is a histogram.
(Histo means area)

A histogram is a graphical representation of
(continuous) grouped frequency distribution in
the form of rectangles whose bases are the class
intervals and heights are the corresponding frequencies. There

are no gaps between two successive rectangles. Maths Talk
Look at the given histogram. It shows the monthly pocket Gather some more information
from the above graph. Compare it
allowance of some students. with your classmates and discuss

the differences, if any.
We can see that most of the students get `200-`300 per month
as pocket allowance.
