                objective: To find the cube of a number by paper folding activity.
                Materials required: Some chart papers, scissors, an instrument box.

                Procedure:
                Let us find the cube of 4.

                   •    Take a rectangular sheet of paper and fold it into four equal parts along the breadth, as
                   shown below.

















                   •  Again, fold it into four equal parts along the length as shown below.






                   •  Further, fold it again into four equal parts as shown here.







                   •  Unfold the sheet and count the number of parts. We will have ............ equal parts in all.

















                observation:

                   •  Here, we folded the paper three times in four equal parts.
                  So, the number of folds = 3 and number of equal parts = 64

                           3
                  Thus, 4  = 64.
