Bar Graph
A bar graph is a pictorial representation of ungrouped data in the form of vertical or horizontal
rectangular bars of equal width and varying heights with equal space between them. The data can
be interpreted more efficiently and compared more clearly using a bar graph.
Have a look at the following bar graphs.
In a vertical bar graph, bars are arranged In a horizontal bar graph, bars are arranged
vertically. horizontally.
The height (or length) of each bar indicates the corresponding value of the numerical data. From
the vertical bar graph, we can easily infer the following information.
( a) What information is given by the bar graph?
The given bar graph shows the production of cycles from January to May.
( b) In which month was the production
maximum? Quick Check
In March. By studying the horizontal bar graph, answer
