3-D PRINTING
3-D Printing or 3-Dimensional Printing is a technology which was first developed at MIT
(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the 1980’s. In this technology, you will use 3-D digital
data on the computer to build 3-D objects by adding layers of material which could be polymers,
metals, concrete or even plant and human tissue. Rapid Prototyping (RP) method is used to
create models all over business and industry in order to quickly test a new product before mass
production. 3-D Printing can be termed as a RP method.
In the construction industry, model houses can be built in a day using 3-D Printing.
There are many 3-D Printing methods: Direct 3-D Printing, Binder 3-D Printing, Multi-Jet-Modeling
(MJM), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Photo-polymerisation.
AUGMENTED REALITY (AR) AND VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)
Augmented Reality is the blending of Virtual Reality and real life. Images are created by developers
within applications that blend in with content in the real world. AR users are able to interact with
virtual content in the real world and can also distinguish between virtual and real content.
In Virtual Reality, you can create a virtual world that users can interact with. In this world, the user
can’t easily distinguish between what is real and what is virtual.
In both VR/AR people must wear HMD (Head Mounted Displays) like Oculust Rift or the inexpensive
Google Cardboard.
