Below is the description of the main components of a robot:
Sensors: Used to detect inputs like light, sound, touch and distance and to
send that data to the controller.
Controller: This acts as the robot’s brain. It receives information and sends
commands.
Body/Frame: The structure that holds all the robot’s components together.
Power supply: Provides energy (from batteries or electricity) to all other
robot components.
End effector: The part that performs tasks such as gripping, cutting or
painting, acting as the robot’s tool.
Actuators: Components that generate movement, such as motors, pumps
and compressors.
MACHINE VS ROBOT
A machine is any device that uses energy to perform a task, such as a fan,
washing machine or bicycle.
Some examples of machines are bicycle and vacuum cleaner.
A robot is a type of machine, but it is more advanced. Robots can sense, think
and act, often without constant human control.
