MY SMART HELPER ROBOT

Objective: Make a little helper robot that can
move around and do small jobs using wheels,

Capstone Project levers, a battery, wires and a switch.

Session 1: Robot Helpers in the Real World

                  Activity: My Helpful Robot Friend

Task: Think of a robot that helps people — like cleaning, watering plants or carrying things.

Draw your robot on paper and show how it senses, thinks and acts.

You can label its parts — eyes (sensors), brain (controller) and arms (actuators).

                  Skills Practiced:

Thinking about how robots help us

                     Drawing and labelling parts

                     Using imagination

Outcome for Session 1: A colourful drawing showing how your robot helps people.

Session 2: Design and Build Using Simple Machines

                  Activity: Build Your Robot Model

Task: Now, make the same robot you drew. Use simple machines like wheels, levers and

                  pulleys to help it move.

                  You Will Need:

Cardboard box, bottle caps (for wheels), pencils or sticks, spoons (for arms), rubber
                  bands, tape and glue.

                  Steps:

STEP - 1 Take a small box for the robot’s body.

STEP - 2 Fix wheels at the bottom using sticks.
