STA
STA stands for Sense, Think and Act, using it robots make smart decisions. Robots
use STA to understand their surroundings, plan actions and then perform tasks. Let
us understand the concept of STA:
Sense: The robot uses sensors, like eyes and ears, to
detect objects, sounds or movements. Example: The
robot sees a cup on the table.
Think: The robot’s brain, powered by AI, decides what
to do based on what it has sensed. Example: Robot
decides to pick up the cup to move it safely.
Act: The robot performs an action, such as moving,
picking up objects or speaking. Example: The robot
moves its arm, picks up the cup and places it in the
sink.
Ask AIRO
If a robot could think for itself, how would it know what’s good or bad?
Real-world Examples of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used in many things that you see and use every day.
Let’s look at some examples:
Smart helpers (Siri or Alexa): These devices
listen to your questions and give answers. They
can play music, set reminders and even help
with homework.
