2. Refine the Program
Task: Run the code on a real micro:bit or in the simulator. Adjust the light and
temperature values until the alarm works correctly in different conditions.
Skills Practiced: Debugging, logical testing and iterative improvement.
Outcome for Session 2
A working MakeCode program that senses light and temperature and responds with icons
or sound alerts.
Session 3: Testing and Enhancement
Activities:
1. Observe and Record Results
Task: Test the Smart Eco Alarm in different environments—bright light, low light, warm
and cool. Record what icons or sounds appear under each condition.
Skills Practiced: Observation, data recording and analytical thinking.
2. Enhance the Project
Task: Add extra features such as using Button A to show temperature, Button B to
show light level or sending a Too Hot message to another micro:bit using radio blocks.
Skills Practiced: Creative extension, multitasking logic and use of buttons and radio
communication.
Outcome for Session 3
A tested and improved Smart Eco Alarm project that can display readings, send alerts
and promote energy awareness.
