Without sensors, a robot can’t detect obstacles, avoid collisions or respond to its surroundings.
Batteries/Power supply: Give the robot energy, just like food gives us energy.

Wires and Circuits: Carry electricity and messages to all parts so the robot can work properly.

What would happen if a robot had no sensors?

                  ROBOTS AND ELECTRICITY CONNECTION

Robots cannot work on their own. They need electricity
to function. Electricity acts like food or energy for a
robot. It powers the motors, allowing the robot to
move and the microcontroller (brain), which processes

information and gives instructions. Sensors, like the
robot’s eyes and ears, also need electricity to detect
surroundings. Without electricity from batteries, wires
or solar panels, a robot cannot move, sense or make
decisions and it will remain inactive.

                  How Electricity Helps Robots Work?

The electricity helps robots in the following ways:

Powering motors: Motors are the parts that make the robot move. Electricity makes the
wheels spin, arms lift and other parts move. For example, a robot vacuum moves around your
room because electricity powers its wheels.

Running the brain (Microcontroller): The microcontroller uses electricity to process
information from sensors and tell the robot what to do. For example, if a sensor detects an
obstacle, electricity helps the brain decide to turn left or stop.

Operating sensors: Sensors need electricity to detect things like light, touch or distance. For
example, a light sensor tells a robot to follow a bright path.
Lighting and display: Some robots have lights (LEDs) or screens. Electricity powers these,
allowing the robot to display messages or signals. For example, a robot with blinking lights can

indicate that it is working or alert someone.

Some robots use solar panels to generate electricity from
                                 SMART
SPARK sunlight, which provides them with the energy needed to work
                                                                 and perform tasks.
