Robots can only do what their brain is told, so they always follow the rules
we give them. They are great helpers because they do exactly what we
say, every time.
Robot’s Arm
A robot’s arm works just like our own arms.
It can move up, down, and around to help
the robot do things. Just like how we use our
arms to pick up toys or reach for things, a
robot uses its arm to do jobs like lifting, holding, or moving objects.
The robot’s arm has joints, just like our elbows, which allow it to bend
and reach in different directions. It is strong and can help do things that
are hard for people, like lifting heavy things or doing tasks over and over
without getting tired.
So, when a robot has a job to do, its arm moves where it needs to go and
helps it get the work done.

Activity Moving a Robot (STA – Sense, Think, and Skills
Act Concepts)
Activity Instructions
1. Pretend to Be a Robot
Let us all pretend to be robots. Imagine,
you are a robot moving around the room.
You will “sense” objects like a toy, a book,
or a ball. Then, you will “think” about
what to do next. Finally, you will “act” by
moving towards it and picking it up.
2. What to Do
Look around and find an object you want
to move towards (like a toy).
