Think about how far it is, how fast you need to go, and if there is
anything in the way.
Now, move like a robot—slowly and carefully—towards the object and
pick it up.
You have just acted like a robot using the STA steps—Sense, Think, and
Act.
Concept: STA (Sense, Think, Act)
Robots follow a special plan called STA. This stands for:
1. Sense: Robots need to know what is happening
around them, like seeing an object or sensing
if something is nearby. They use sensors, just
like we use our eyes and ears.
2. Think: Once a robot “senses” something, it
must decide what to do next. That is called
“thinking.” It plans its moves, like deciding
whether to go forward, stop, or turn.
3. Act: After thinking, the robot starts to move.
It uses its motors or wheels to go towards the object or to complete a
task, just like you moved towards your toy.
In this activity, you learned how robots sense their surroundings, think
about what to do, and act on their decisions—just like you.
Understanding the Robots Around Us
Robots are everywhere. They can be big or small and help us do many
different things. Some robots look like people, some like animals, and
some even go to space. Let’s learn about the different kinds of robots and
what they do.
Humanoid Robot
A humanoid robot looks a bit like a person. It might have a head, arms, and
legs, just like us. These robots are designed to walk, talk, and even help
