Observation
After putting all the parts on the magnetic board and connecting them
with the USB cable and jumper wires, the LED lights up brightly. Students
will observe that if the jumper wires are not connected properly, the LED
will not glow. They will also notice that the LED light stays on as long as
the battery is connected, showing how power flows through each part to
make the light work.
Application
Night lights: These small lights use LEDs
to gently light up a room or hallway at
night. Just like in the activity.

connect a battery, the motor spins, which can
make things like wheels or fans move.
• Fan: A fan is a small thing that spins when connected to
a motor. It moves air and keeps things cool, just like a
bigger fan you might have at home.
