Output
In this activity, You will build a fan regulator circuit where you can control the
speed of a fan using a potentiometer (a special knob). When the fan is powered
on, turning the knob will make the fan spin faster or slower, just like how we
adjust the speed of a ceiling fan at home.
Concepts
1. Electricity and Motion: You will learn how electricity from the battery powers
the motor, which makes the fan spin. This teaches them that electricity can
make things move, like fans and toy cars.
2. Controlling Speed with a Potentiometer: The potentiometer is a special
knob that controls how fast or slow the fan spins. When the knob is turned,
it changes how much electricity goes to the motor. More electricity makes
the fan spin faster, and less electricity makes it go slower.
Observations
In the Fan Regulator Circuit activity, you will observe:
• When the circuit is connected, the fan starts spinning.
• By turning the potentiometer knob, the fan’s speed changes.
• The faster you turn the knob, the faster the fan spins, and turning it the
other way will make the fan go slower .
