1. Sense: The robot’s eyes (sensors) see the toy on the floor.
2. Think: The robot’s brain (AI) thinks, “I need to pick up the toy.” It plans
how to move its arm and where to go.
3. Act: The robot moves toward the toy and picks it up with its hand. In just
three simple steps, the robot has helped you clean up.

Century #Critical Thinking
Activity Be the Robot Skills
Objective
Understand how robots work by using your senses (like a
robot’s sensors), thinking, and then acting.
What You Will Need
A blindfold
Classroom objects (like a pencil, book, or chair)
Steps
1. Pick a Robot
One person is chosen to be the “robot” and wears the blindfold. This
person can’t see, just like how robots need sensors to understand the
world.
2. Choose Sensors
Other classmates act as the “sensors.” They will guide the robot by giving
information. For example, they might say, “There’s a pencil on your left.”
3. Robot Thinks
The robot listens to the sensors and thinks about what to do next. If the
sensors say there is a chair in front, the robot might think, “I need to
move around it.”
4. Robot Acts
After thinking, the robot moves and performs the task, like picking up an
object or walking around the chair.
