machines use energy to perform tasks like pressing or stamping materials, like
real machines in factories.
Observation
When the power press machine is switched on, the motor rotates, causing the
press to move down and apply force to an object. The press flattens or presses
the object, and when the machine is turned off, the motion stops, showing how
the motor controls both the movement and the force of the press.
Construct a Waving Robot
To make a waving robot, we can use links (like arms) and joints (like elbows) to
create movement. Here’s a simple explanation of how the mechanism works:
1. Base and Arm
The robot has a base to stand on.
Attached to the base is an arm made up of two parts (links). These parts
are connected by a joint that allows the arm to bend and move.
2. Motor Power
A small motor is connected to the joint. The motor provides the power to
move the arm.
When the motor turns on, it rotates the joint, making the arm move up
and down like it’s waving.
3. Links and Joints
The two parts of the arm are called links.
The joint between them acts like an elbow, allowing the arm to move back
and forth. The motor controls this movement.
4. Movement
As the motor turns, it moves the joint, which causes one link to move up
and down.
This creates a waving motion as one part of the arm stays attached to the
base, and the other part moves up and down.
5. Repeating Action
The motor can be set to move continuously, which makes the robot wave
repeatedly.
