Step 6 Running the Simulation
Once the circuit is built, click the Start Simulation button at the
bottom of the screen.
Observe the LED lighting up, indicating that the circuit works as
expected.
Output
In the LED Glowing using Tinkercad activity, when the battery is connected, the
7805 voltage regulator provides a steady 5V output to the circuit, allowing the
LED to glow. The resistor is used to limit the current flowing through the LED
to protect it from burning out. The breadboard helps to arrange and connect
the components without soldering.
Concepts
1. Current Limiting and Voltage Regulation: You will understand how a
resistor is used to limit the current in the circuit to protect the LED from
excess current. The 7805 voltage regulator ensures that the LED receives a
stable 5V, teaching the concept of voltage regulation and why stable power
supply is important in circuits.
2. Basic Circuit Design: This activity introduces you to the principles of
designing and creating a simple electrical circuit using a breadboard.
It teaches how electrical components like resistors, LEDs, and voltage
regulators work together to control current and light up an LED.
