Step 4 Connect the Ground Pin
The longest leg of the RGB LED (common cathode) needs to be
connected to the ground.
Use a jumper wire:
Connect one end of the jumper wire to the longest leg of the
RGB LED.
Connect the other end of the wire to the ground (GND) rail on the
breadboard (usually a row along the edge of the breadboard).
Step 5 Place the Voltage Regulator
In Tinkercad, search for the 7805 Voltage Regulator. It has three
pins:
Input (where the higher voltage, 9V, comes in).
Ground (GND).
Output (where it outputs 5V for the LEDs).
Place the 7805-voltage regulator on the breadboard:
The input pin (left) will connect to the 9V battery.
The output pin (right) will give a safe 5V output for your LEDs.
The middle pin is ground (GND).
