Activity Obstacle Avoider Using Mechatron Kit Skills #Critical Thinking
Overview
An Obstacle Avoider Robot is a smart machine that can sense things in front of it and move around
them. It uses a special sensor called an Ultrasonic sensor to figure out if there's something in its
way. If it finds an obstacle, the robot changes its direction to go around it and keeps moving without
bumping into things. This helps the robot to explore new places without getting stuck.
Learning Objectives
Understand the principles of robotics and how sensors detect obstacles in a real-world
environment.
Apply skills in assembling electronic components and programming microcontrollers to perform
automated tasks.
Develop problem-solving abilities by troubleshooting and optimizing robot movements to avoid
collisions.
Component Required
Small C x 2 Medium Plate x 1 Small Plate x 1 Caster Strip x 1 Small L x 1
Motor x 2 Wheel x 2 Ultrasonic Module x 1 Controller Board Caster
(Brain Module) x 1 Wheel x1
Small Bolt x 20 Motor Shaft x 2 Adapter x 1 Nut x 20
Follow the Robot Assembly Steps
Step 1 Take two small “C” plates and place them as shown in the image.
Step 2 Attach the motor to the motor shaft and secure it on the small
‘C’ bracket using the screw provided with the motor.
