Home Assistance: Vacuuming robots and personal assistants
                   like robotic vacuum cleaners.

Education: Teaching students through hands-on experiments
                   with robots.
Fun Fact: The word “robot” comes from a Czech word meaning
“forced labour” or “work.” Today, robots help us with tasks
ranging from industrial manufacturing to household chores.

                 Overview of Mechanical and Electronic

Components used in Modern Robotics Systems

                 Mechanical Components

Frame: The frame of the robot that encases everything inside it. This may
be plastic, metal, or some other substance.

Motors: These are the elements that facilitate the motion of the robot.
Take a DC motor, for instance; it can either rotate the wheels or shift the
                   arms.
Gears and Pulleys: These operate to manage how fast, in what direction
and with what strength the robot can move.

Wheels and Tracks: With the use of wheels, a robot can then move about on flat surfaces, while
tracks can assist in moving along rough terrains.

                 Electronic Components

Microcontroller: A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip. It
controls different electronic devices by running simple programs stored inside
it. It’s like the “brain” of many gadgets, helping them work. .

Sensors: Sensor’s devices such as LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), ultrasonic
sensors, IR Sensor, etc. which enable robots to respond to their environment.

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes): Used for indicating status or feedback to the
                                      user (e.g., power on/off, errors).

Batteries: Power source for the robot to function.

Introduction to Robotics and Electronics 9
