Step 6  Connect the 3rd pin (common) of the 7-segment display to the red probe.























                 Step 7  If a single LED glows on the 7-segment display, it is a common anode 7-segment display,
                          and we need to make the connections accordingly.






















                 Step 8  If no LED glows on the 7-segment display, exchange the red and black probes. Now, connect
                          the black probe to pin 3 (common) and the red probe to the 1st pin of the 7-segment display.























                 Step 9  If the LED glows on the 7-segment display, it is a common cathode 7-segment display, and
                          we need to make the connections as per the common cathode 7-segment display.
