Step 7 Connect the brain and Mobile/Desktop/Laptop with the cable to upload the code.
Step 8 Once the code is uploaded. Connect the brain with power bank and check the results.
Concept
Light Sensors (LDRs): In this activity, students use an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) to sense
the amount of light. LDRs are electronic components whose resistance changes based on the
intensity of light falling on them. When the light level is high, the resistance of the LDR decreases,
and when it’s low, the resistance increases.
Working of LEDs and Sensors: The LDR is connected to the Brain Module (nano) which processes
the light data. Based on the light sensed by the LDR, the system decides when to turn the LED on
or off. The relationship between the light intensity and the resistance of the LDR introduces the
concept of inverse proportionality. As light increases, the resistance decreases, and vice versa.
Observation
When the light intensity increases, the LDR’s resistance decreases, and this results in the LED
turning off (depending on the code logic). Students observe how light can influence electrical
circuits using a sensor.
When the light intensity decreases, the LDR’s resistance increases, causing the LED to turn on.
This demonstrates how the LDR can detect environmental changes and control devices like lights.
Application
LDR sensors help solar panels catch more sunlight
by adjusting their angle.
