                 Draw plane shapes using solids, such as pencil

                 box, tea box, dice, chalk box, any cylindrical object,

                 etc.

                 A. 1. Take a book and place it on a sheet of paper.

                      2. Hold the book firmly in place with one hand

                          and draw the outline of the book with a pencil
                          using the other hand.

                      3. Remove the book from the paper.

                      4. You will see that you have drawn a rectangle.

                      5. You can repeat this activity using other cuboidal objects like a

                          pencil-box, a tea box or an eraser.

                 B. 1. Take a dice and place it on a sheet of paper.

                      2. Hold the dice firmly in place with one hand

                          and draw the outline of the dice with a pencil

                          using the other hand.

                      3. Remove the dice from the paper.

                      4. You will see that you have drawn a square.

                      5. You can repeat this activity using other cubical objects like a chalk-

                          box.

                 C. 1. Repeat the same process as in activities A
                          and B using cylindrical or conical objects.

                      2. You will find that drawing the outline of the

                          base of these objects gives a circle.
