            MEASUREMENT OF WEIGHT

The property of an object which tells us how heavy is
the object, is called its weight.

Soni has a watermelon and a papaya. By observing,

we can say that the watermelon is heavy and the papaya is light. We can
use the word 'heavier' and 'lighter' to compare the weights of objects.

Look at the balance shown alongside. One

side of the balance has a pineapple, and the
other side has eight oranges. Since both sides

are balanced, the weight of the pineapple is
the same as the weight of 8 oranges.

We use grams and kilograms to measure

            how heavy things are.

            Gram
                                                                        about 3 g about 10 g about 100 g
The gram is used to weigh light objects. It is represented by g.
