CLOCK
A clock tells us the time. Generally, the clock we see is
an analog clock. It has two hands— a longer hand and
a shorter hand. The longer hand is called the minute hand
and the shorter hand is called the hour hand. The face of
the clock is called its dial.
Analog Clock
The dial of the clock is divided into 12 big equal sections,
marked with numbers 1 to 12.
We also use a digital clock. A digital clock does not have 12:30
hands. It shows the time directly in numbers like 6:00 or

Reading Time when the Minute Hand is at 12
We know that the hour hand takes one hour to move from one
hour mark to the next hour mark. If it moves from 4 to 5, it
means one hour has passed.
In the clock shown above, the hour hand is at 5 and the minute hand is at 12.
We say that the time is 5 o’clock or 5:00.
