ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION OF MONEY
Look at the following toys and the price tags attached to them.
Addition of Money
To add two or more amounts, we simply add the amounts in the same way
as we add numbers.
Example 1. Soni bought a doll and a Example 2. Ayush bought a bat
top. Find the total cost of these two and a toy car. Find the total cost of

Subtraction of Money
To subtract one amount from another, we simply subtract the smaller
amount from the larger amount in the same way as we subtract numbers.
Example 3. Vishal bought a top. Example 4. Sanju bought a toy
He gave a 50‑rupee note to the car. He gave a 50‑rupee note to
shopkeeper. How much money was the shopkeeper. How much money
returned? was returned?
