                  2. Write the following numbers in the short form. One has been done for
                       you.

                       a. 2 H + 3 T + 5 O = 235 b. 200 + 9 =

                       c. 1 H + 6 T + 9 O = d. 100 + 6 =

                       e. 2 H + 3 T + 3 O = f. 200 + 30 + 6 =

                COMPARISON OF NUMBERS

                Symbols of Comparison

We use the symbols =, > and < to compare numbers.

                Equal to (=)

The symbol ‘=’ means ‘equal to’. When ‘=’ is used between
two numbers, it means the numbers on both sides have
                the same value.

                Examples: a. 18 = 18 b. 64 = 64

                Less than (<)

The symbol ‘<’ shows ‘less than’. When ‘<’ is used between
two numbers, it means the number on the left side of the

symbol is less than the number on the right side of it.

                Examples: a. 5 < 12 b. 17 < 34

                Greater than (>)

The symbol ‘>’ means ‘greater than’. When ‘>’ is used between
two numbers, it means the number on the left side of the
symbol is greater than the number on the right side of it.

                Examples: a. 16 > 8 b. 73 > 68

                                                                                                              17
