            HOW mAny

Multiplication tables help us find out how many things are there in all. Look

            at the following bouquets.

There are 6 bouquets. Each bouquet has 5 roses.

That means, we have 6 groups of 5 roses.

            We can write it as: 6 × 5 = 30 Tips

So, there are 30 roses in all.

                                                                                    The first number shows how
Now, look at the following collection of crayons: many groups there are. The
                                                                                    second number shows how
                                                                                    many objects there are in
                                                                                    each group.

There are 5 groups, and each group has 4 crayons.

That means, we have 5 groups of 4 crayons. Whenever we multiply

                                                                                         any number by 0, the
            The number of crayons in total = 5 × 4 = 20 answer is always 0.

Therefore, the total number of crayons is 20.

            making multiplication Tables

We can build other multiplication tables by using the tables we already

know, like the tables of 2, 3, 4, or 5.

            making a table of 5

Step 1. Write the table of 2.

                         2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20

Step 2. Write the table of 3 below the table of 2.

                         2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20
                         3 6 9 12 15 18 21 24 27 30
