                     A fraction is a number that shows equal parts of a whole.
                     To check whether two fractions are equivalent, we cross multiply them. If we get the
                       same product, then the fractions are equivalent.
                     Fractions that represent the same parts of a whole are called equivalent fractions.

                     Fractions with the same denominator are called like fractions.
                     Fractions with different denominators are called unlike fractions.
                     If the denominators are the same, the fraction with the greater numerator is greater.
                     Addition  and subtraction  of like  fractions  involve operations  on the  numerators
                       only.
