            NetS of SolidS

A net is a flat shape that can be folded to form a solid shape.
When we open out a cube, we get the net of the cube as shown alongside.

            Nets of a Cube

This net of a cube shows the flat surfaces or
the faces of the cube. Each face is a square of
            the same size.

Each of the following is a net of a cube.

              a. b. c. d.

There are a few more nets of a cube. Can you explore them?

            Nets of a Cuboid

We know that in a cuboid, the flat surfaces are rectangles instead of squares. A cuboid

and its net are shown here. Observe these.
