to draw different types of polygons using a geoboard and understand their shapes

                    • Take a geoboard and some rubber bands
                    • Stretch the rubber bands across the
pegs to create different shapes with
                        varying numbers of sides.
                    • Draw each polygon on your dot paper
and label it. Count the sides.
                    • Look closely at the properties of each
polygon. What forms a square or
                        rectangle?

                    • If you have not made a square or
rectangle yet try making one and observe its properties yourself.

                    extra challenge:

                    • Write a short description of a polygon you create.
                    • Try to imagine how someone else could make that polygon just from your
                        description.
