units for measuring length,
mass and capacity. Metre
(m), gram (g), and litre
(L) are the base units of
length, mass and capacity
respectively.
There are also bigger and
smaller units made from
these. These are formed by
using prefixes with the base
units. The prefixes and their
values are shown alongside.
This system of measurement is known as the metric system of measurement.
