Solution. a. 2000 g = (2000 ÷ 1000) kg = 2 kg
b. 5000 g = (5000 ÷ 1000) kg = 5 kg
example 2. Convert the following into grams and milligrams.
a. 3000 mg b. 2005 mg
Solution. a. 3000 mg = (3000 ÷ 1000) g = 3 g
b. 2005 mg = 2000 mg + 5 mg
= (2000 ÷ 1000) g + 5 mg = 2 g 5 mg
example 3. Convert.
a. 35000 g into kg b. 3876 g into kg and g
Solution. a. 35000 g = (35000 ÷ 1000) kg = 35 kg
b. 3876 g = 3000 g + 876 g
= (3000 ÷ 1000) kg + 876 g = 3 kg 876 g
