We know that a day has 24 hours. So, the hour hand must go round the clock twice
in a single day.
Look at the given clock. It shows 7 o’clock. But, it is not clear whether it
is the time in the morning or evening. To avoid such problems, we use
a.m. and p.m. The time between 12 midnight and 12 noon is expressed
by a.m. It stands for ante meridiem. The time between 12 noon and
12 midnight is expressed by p.m. It stands for post meridiem.
