Addition with Regrouping

We have learnt the addition of smaller numbers with regrouping in the previous
classes. Now, we will learn the addition of 4-digit and 5-digit numbers with regrouping.

Adding 4-digit Numbers

Example 1. 5243 + 4987 = ?

Solution. Write the numbers in columns and add starting from the ones place. Regroup
if necessary.
