Solve the following word problems.
1. A factory produced 13452 TV sets in 2022 and 20308 TV sets in
2023. Find the increase in production of TV sets.
2. A milk dairy produced 87000 litres of milk in a day. If it supplied
2502 litres to a milk depot, how much milk was left with the dairy?
3. There are 25615 bags of rice in a godown. If 7645 bags are sold, find the number of
bags left in the godown.
4. Rohan wants to purchase a second-hand car for `95,700, but
he only has `63,300. How much more money does he need to
purchase the car?
5. There were 5753 trees in an orchard. 2730 trees fell over in a
storm. How many trees were left in the orchard?
6. A fruitseller displays the given price list:
Mangoes — `897 per box
Grapes — `233 per box
Apples — `1,533 per box
a. Find the difference in the price of apples and grapes.
b. Find the difference in the price of mangoes and grapes.
c. Find the difference in the price of apples and mangoes.

To solve problems that involve both addition and subtraction, we first perform addition
and then perform subtraction.
Example 1. Solve: 2345 + 5361 – 3694.
