            Solve the following word problems.
                1.  An almirah can hold 353 books. How many books can be kept in 234 almirahs?
                2.  The price of a book is `98. Find the price of 485 such books.
                3.  65 passengers can sit in a bus. How many passengers can sit in 435 such buses?

                4.  A girl types 62 words in a minute. How many words will she type in 4 hours?
              5.  A bag contains 38 kg of rice. How much rice will 25 such bags contain?
              6.  The price of a table is `330. What will be the price of 89 such tables?
                7.  The company price of a tricycle is `2765. A dealer buys 27 tricycles. How much money
                    does he pay to the company?
              8.  In a fruit shop, the price of apples is `120 per kg, grapes
                    `78 per kg, mangoes `85 per kg and oranges `45 per kg.

                    a.  Find the cost of 5 kg of grapes and 3 kg of mangoes.
                    b.  Find the cost of 8 kg of oranges and 4 kg of apples.

                    c.  If  2 kg of each item  is purchased, what is  the total
                        cost?
                    d.  rani gives the shopkeeper a `500 note. How much money will the shopkeeper
                        return, if rani purchases 2 kg of apples, 3 kg of oranges and 1 kg of grapes?

              9.  There are 500 packs of playing cards in a box. If each pack has 52 playing cards, how
                    many cards are there in the box?
              10.  Each tree in Abdul’s orchard gives 195 apples. How many apples will 84 such apple
                    trees give?











                 When a number is multiplied by zero, the product is always zero.

                 When a number is multiplied by 1, the product is always the number itself.

                 When two or more numbers are multiplied, a change in the order of the numbers
                   to be multiplied does not change the product.
                 When multiplying  a number by  the  multiples  of 10, 100 or 1000, we multiply  by
                   the digit other than 0 and simply add an equal number of zeros to the right of the

                   numeral.
