Sonia has 15 stamps. of the stamps are new. How many stamps are new?
                                        5

                      2
To find of 15, divide the 15 stamps into 5 equal groups and take 2 groups together:
                      5
            15 ÷ 5 = 3 and 3 + 3 = 6 or 2 × 3 = 6

We can see that a group has 3 stamps and so, two groups have 6 stamps.
                 2
So, of 15 stamps = 6 stamps. Thus, 6 stamps are new.
                 5
To find the fraction of a number, divide the number by the denominator and then

multiply the quotient by the numerator.
