Looking at the above data, answer the following:

1. Name the city where the number of cars sold has the greatest digit in the
ones place.
2. Rearrange the digits of the number of cars sold in Mumbai to form the

greatest and smallest 4-digit numbers.
3. Swap two digits in the sales figure of Bengaluru to make it as big as possible.
Also write the new number in expanded form.

4. Estimate the sales of each city to the nearest thousand.

Let us see what happens if we add 1 to it. 9 9 9 9 9 Greatest 5-digit number

100000 is the smallest 6-digit number. + 1

It is read as one lakh.
As we keep increasing by lakhs, we get numbers like 200000 (two lakh), 300000

(three lakh), 400000 (four lakh), ..., 900000 (nine lakh). On increasing further by ten

thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens and ones, we finally reach the greatest 6-digit
number 999999, which is read as nine lakh ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-

nine.
