A fraction whose numerator is less than its denominator is called a proper fraction.
A fraction whose numerator is greater than or equal to its denominator is called an
improper fraction.
A combination of a whole number and a proper fraction is called a mixed fraction.
Fractions with the same denominator are called like fractions.
Fractions having different denominators are called unlike fractions.
Two or more fractions representing the same value are called equivalent fractions.
To find equivalent fractions, we multiply or divide the numerator and denominator of
the given fraction by the same non-zero number.
To add two or more like fractions, we add the numerators of the fractions, keeping the
denominator the same.
To subtract like fractions, we subtract their numerators, keeping the denominator the
same.
