7-digit Numbers

We know that 999999 is the greatest 6-digit number. If we add 1 to the
greatest 6-digit number, that is 999999, we get a 7-digit number. Tips

1000000 is the smallest number of seven digits and is read as ten lakh.

Similarly, 2000000 is read as twenty lakh, 3000000 is read as thirty lakh and
9000000 is read as ninety lakh.
The greatest number of seven digits is 9999999. It is read as ninety-nine lakh ninety-

nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine.
