A polyhedron is a three-dimensional solid made up of flat polygonal faces, straight
edges, and vertices (corners). It is a 3D shape with flat surfaces. Examples of polyhedra
(the plural of polyhedron) include a cube, cuboid, triangular prism and pyramid.
Triangular
Cube Prism Hexagonal Pentagonal
Prism Pyramid
Some polyhedra have faces that are all identical, and the same number of faces meet
at each vertex. Such solids are called regular polyhedra.
Regular Regular Regular Regular
Tetrahedron Cube Octahedron Icosahedron Dodecahedron
A polyhedron consists of the following parts:
faces: A face is a flat surface of a polyhedron.
edges: An edge is a line segment between the faces.
Vertices: A vertex is a point where the two edges meet.
Here, you can see the number of vertices, edges and faces of some polyhedra.
