                                                                                             Skills

                Preparation:
Take a circular piece of cardboard, divide it into equal
sectors and label them TL (ten lakh), L (lakh), TTh (ten TL O
thousand), Th (thousand), H (hundred), T (ten) and O
(one) as shown. Fix a simple arrow spinner at the centre. L T
Prepare a set of digit cards or slips with digits 0–9. Draw
a blank seven-column place value chart headed TL, L, TTh H
                TTh, Th, H, T, O. Keep a pencil and a recording sheet
ready to write the numerals and their number names. Th
                Procedure:

To form a seven-digit number, spin the spinner and
note the sector where the arrow stops, then draw one TL L TTh Th H T O
                digit card and place that digit in the corresponding 7 6 0 9 1 3 5
column of your place value chart. If the spinner lands
on a column that is already filled, return the drawn card to the pile, reshuffle if you like,
and spin again. Keep spinning and drawing cards until all the seven columns are filled
with a digit. Now, write down the seven-digit number in numerals along with its number
name. Repeat this process to produce at least five different numbers.
