This beautiful pattern is made using hexagons and triangles. Only equilateral triangles
are used in tessellations, not scalene or isosceles triangles. Similarly, shapes such as

rhombuses, parallelograms and trapeziums can also be used to create tessellations. As
seen in a tangram, you can create various designs using triangles to form a tessellation

pattern.
