1 tonne = 10 quintals = 1000 kg
Example 3. Convert:

Solution. a. 3 quintals = (3 × 100) kg = 300 kg
b. 3000 kg = (3000 ÷ 1000) tonnes = 3 tonnes
c. 4200 kg = 4000 kg + 200 kg = 4 tonnes + 2 quintals = 4 tonnes 2 quintals
