                   1. Find the perimeter of each poster. Which poster has the largest perimeter?

                 2. Are there any two or more posters which have the same perimeter?
                 3. How many unit squares does each poster have?

            Perimeter

We have learnt about perimeter in the previous class. We
know that the perimeter is the distance around the boundary 1
                                                                                              CLEAN
of a closed figure. DELHI 2
Look at the poster given alongside. The poster is made on GREEN 3 4 units
square grid paper in which each square measures 1 unit. DELHI 4

            The perimeter of this poster is 5 units + 4 units + 5 units 1 2 3 4 5
            + 4 units = 18 units. 5 units

            Perimeter on a Square Grid

A grid is made up of a number of unit squares. We know that the perimeter of

a figure is the total length of its boundary. When regular or irregular shapes are
drawn on a grid, we can find the perimeter by counting the edges of the unit
            squares along the boundary.
