Example 1. The cost of 1 pencil box is `40. How much will 9 pencil boxes cost?
Solution. The cost of 1 pencil box = `40
The cost of 9 pencil boxes = (40 × 9) = `360
Example 2. If 8 water bottles cost `720, find the cost of 1 water bottle.
Solution. The cost of 8 water bottles = `720

But how do you find the cost of the required number of articles when the cost of some
articles is given?
In such situations, first find the cost of one article and then calculate the cost of the
required number of articles.
