example. Make a palindrome with 78.

            Solution. 78 + 87 = 165 (not a palindrome)
                        165 + 561 = 726 (not a palindrome)

                        726 + 627 = 1353 (not a palindrome)

                        1353 + 3531 = 4884 (palindrome)

                        Exercise 2C

                1. observe the given dot arrangements and check whether they are even or odd.

                    a. b. c. d.

                     i. Add 6 dots to each arrangement and see what changes occur in the arrangement.

ii. Add 3 dots to each arrangement and see what changes occur in the arrangement.
                2. Circle the numbers that are even.

                    a. 1023 b. 2348 c. 4014 d. 349 e. 846

                3. Circle the numbers that are odd.

                    a. 3450 b. 6893 c. 1027 d. 222 e. 981

We have already learnt that multiplication is H T O

            repeated addition.
                                                                                     1 4 2 Multiplicand

                                                                                × 5 Multiplier
multiplicand and the number by which we multiply is
called the multiplier. The result of the multiplication 7 1 0 Product

            is called their product.

For example, in 142 × 5 = 710, 142 is the multiplicand, 5 is the multiplier and 710 is the
            product.
