                           Chapter Profile

Storing on a Computer What is a File?
Creating a File Opening a File
Saving a File at a Different Location

We use many things to store different items such as:

A bag to store books, notebooks, pencil cases, lunch boxes, etc.

A refrigerator to store food, fruits, vegetables, milk, etc.
A cupboard to store books, toys, clothes, etc.

                                         Bag Refrigerator Cupboard

You have also learnt in your previous class that whatever work you do on a computer
can be stored on it for future use. Let’s learn more about this.

                      STORING ON A COMPUTER

You can store your drawings, letters and stories
on a computer. You can also store songs,
movies and games on a computer. You store

your work on the computer using the storage
                  devices.
